September 9, 2007 | Family Portrait, The 4-1-1 on Me

Today is our one year anniversary. One year! Gawd, how time flies. And we still haven’t developed the film from the disposable cameras. We’re both so new to this that we had no idea what to get each other. So one of my coworkers looked it up online and apparently the 1st year traditional gift is paper.
Paper?
Yes. I said the the same thing. With an equally confused expression on my face.
What does that mean? Well, it means books, coupons, money, stationery, paintings, pictures, calendars, posters, tickets and…something else. There were 10 things, but I can’t seem to remember what the last one was.
Anyway, I had to give the hubby a couple hints and luckily he’s smart enuff to buy a clue: I got him tickets to the Shaolin Warriors performance at Gammage in October and he got me tickets to the So You Think You Can Dance Tour. They were sold out, so he had to get them from another source. Sneaky man that he is, he ordered them on his computer. While I was sitting in the room with him! I didn’t even notice.
Today, we’re doing breakfast at our favorite place (Original Pancake House), a movie (The Shoot-em Movie…you’ll be seeing a review later) and dinner at either The YardHouse or The Elephant Bar. We haven’t decided yet.
Happy Anniversary to us. Here’s to looking at 50 more years together
