November 12, 2007 | Book One, Book Two, DA Series, Draven Atreides, Writing Movements
The first draft of Book Two in the DA series is done.
One week and 4 days past the initial deadline, but it’s done.
I should feel more excited about that, but…It needs to be polished. There are many, many holes to fill. And I didn’t finish the Epilogue. Which is something new for me. I’m a little disappointed in myself about that. I’m off today and I told my BF that I was going to finish the book today. I didn’t have that much to do. She told me to do a little meditation technique before I started writing.
So I took a shower, tried the little breathing-and-visualization technique and wrote, but…
My brain. Is. Fried.
Writing the last few pages and trying to eek out the Epilogue was like pulling Pooh’s head out of a honey pot.
So, I’m finished. At this point in time, I am finished.
The first draft of Book Two in the DA series is done.
For now.
I’m going to set it aside and work on revising Book One.

Rinda says:
I think it’s great news! Congratulations! I’ll raise a fine glass of merlot for you tonight.

Indeed, congratulations on getting the First Draft done! It might not be perfect, or finished, or the way you want it…but it’s a great start!

Carol Shenold says:
Congrats on finishing. You don’t know me but Rinda said to stop by. I’m Carol, I write paranormal cozy mysteries and urban fantasy. My book, “Privy to Murder” came out in October and I’m at work on the next one.
You’ve done something many people never do the first time, and you’ve done it twice.
Celise says:
Rinda - Thanks. If I liked wine, I’d raise a glass myself. How are at mkaing sangria?
Just a Girl - True dat!
Carol - Thanks so much for stopping by. And thanks Rinda for making the suggestion. Good luck with your books.
Rinda says:
Love Sangria. But if you like sweet.. I make a kind of fruity wine. Green apple riesling and peach, apricot chardonnay.
Jill Monroe says:
Way to go. Nothing like getting that first draft done!
