Writing Movements: Revision Hell, Book One

April 9, 2008 | Book One, Book Stuff, DA Series, Draven Atreides, The 4-1-1 on Me, Writing Movements

Revision Hell officially started for me on Sunday. Today is Wednesday and you all will be happy to know that I’ve rewritten 27 total pages so far. These are handwritten pages, not typed. It might not seem like a lot to you (or to the writers doing the “write thing” full time), but to me, it feels damn good. In general, my goal is to write–or rewrite–at least one page a day. It usually ends up being more than that, so yay me. Some of the material I can still use, which is good, but I have a feeling I’m going to be doing more cutting out than adding in.

Yay me!

Thank you so much for the comment.

27 pages..it sounds endless..but I know you gotta do what you gotta do.

Ellie - 27 pages CAN be endless. Especially if I’m in the midst of writer’s block. Things are going good so far, so I’m going to hold that optimism real close.

Wow, sounds like a lot of work to me. One page per day… do you always find the time?

  4. Celise says:

Cate - Yes. I work full time, so when I’m in writing mode I write during my two 15 minute breaks and one hr lunch. I can’t write in the evening becuz my hubby is a distraction (no, we don’t have kids) or on weekends. Since I write on paper first, I usually save the weekends for typing up what I’ve written.
