October 13, 2008 | Life in General, The 4-1-1 on Me, Weekend Wrap-Up
My hubby’s BF, J, got married yesterday in Sedona. We drove down on Saturday and stayed the night. Our hotel, Kokopelli Inn, wasn’t what E, J’s bride, had expected. Apparently, there are two Kokopelli hotels–Inn and Suites–and she booked the wrong place. There was no clock in our room so we had to use the hubby’s cell phone for the alarm, and there was an ironing board but no iron. Go figure. The only redeeming feature about this place was the Jacuzzi in the room. Right near the bed. We used it twice. Very relaxing.
I haven’t been to Sedona in years, but as we drove up–and through–the town, I remembered once again why I love living in Arizona. We have the most amazing views. They got married outside at the Crescent Moon Ranch. CLICK PIC FOR BIGGER VIEW
From l to r: Anna (bride’s BF and maid of honor), Reverend Boyd, E (the bride), J (the groom, and my hubby. It was quite a hike from the parking lot. Had I known there would be a bit of a hike, I would’ve worn tennis shoes instead of the heels I’d just bought Friday night. Gah! Needless to say, by the end of it all, my dogs were not barking, but howling like crazy.
They cut the cake outside, too, at the entrance to this public place. CLICK PICS FOR BIGGER VIEW

People who walked by were congraulating them and some people even stayed to watch the ceremony. It was quite beautiful. They created their own vows (just like we did) and I cried a little when J read his. Then we went to L’Auberge Restaurant for brunch. Which was outside and quite beautiful as you can see: CLICK PIC FOR BIGGER VIEW

The one good thing about having a small wedding party is the wedding booty. Would you like to see what we got? CLICK PIC FOR BIGGER VIEW
Lemme break it down for ya:
~ 2 packets of Emergen-C Super Energy Booster Vitamin C Acai Berry flavored fizzy drink - my husband likes these
~ mini shower sponge
~ 2 bells - which we didn’t ring at the ceremony.
~ a box of rose-scented soap petals - which we used in the Jacuzzi the second time around.
~ lavender scented candle tin.
~ small box of Brown & Haley’s Almond Roca Chocolate Toffee Wafer - yuck. But the hubby seems to like them.
~ small tin of Whitman’s Sampler Assorted Chocolates - don’t know if any have nuts. I’ll let him try first.
~ Rose Water Valley’s Lavender scented Hand Care set. Comes with hand cream and a bath fizz ball.
~ a faux strand of pearls - very fun, although I didn’t wear them at the wedding. Maybe I’ll hang them around my rearview mirror.
~ a small tin of Sugar-free Cinnamon Heart Love Mints - and boy! are these things cinnamony.
~ small bottle of Martini & Rossi Asti Sparkling Wine - Blech! Tasted like the same nasty stuff we had at our wedding and I didn’t like it then, either. I had one sip and that was it.
~ plastic champagne glasses - for the nasty champagne. I would’ve preferred Martinelli’s Sparkling Cider (which we drank at the cake cutting).
~ 2 mini ICAM mini dessert cremes
~ a mini piece of milk chocolate from www.Magdenfavors.com with the bride and groom’s name and wedding date on the package - I thought that was pretty cool.
~ a sample of Eternity Moment (for me…which we both liked) and Eternity for Men (for him…which I REALLY liked.)
~ a pen that says “Thank you for joining us on our special day” with their names and wedding date on it.
~ a wedding-themed lighter (for the candle)
~ crackers and Vino Formaggio Cabernet Wine and Black Pepper Pasteurized Processed Cheese Spread - they included plastic knives for us, too.
~ 2 purple gumballs (their colors were lavender and white)
~ a solid milk chocolate cigar - which the hubby thought at first was a real cigar.
~ a 16oz bottle of I Am Loved AquaMantra Natural Spring Water.
~ 2 Sedona postcards.
Yes. We got quite the haul. I couldn’t believe how much E gave us, but then again, she always goes all out for the holidays. Well, the major holidays, anyway. As soon as my Flickr acct is renewed, I’ll upload the rest of the photos and point you in that direction.
All in all, it was a great weekend. I did a lot of traveling last week and I’m ready to settle back down into my usual routine. So, how was your weekend?
