The Arizona Phoenix Sister Cities introduces its International Competition for Writers with Disabilities 2010. Below is a summary of the major elements of the competition:

Persons 19 years of age and older with a disability residing in the State of Arizona or one of Phoenix’s nine sister cities (for a list of the sister cities see attached brochure.Type of Writing
Poems of 32 lines or less written in EnglishContest Theme
Reflections on LifeEntry Fee
$15 per entrant residing in Arizona, regardless of the number of poems he/she submitsDue Date
April 1, 2010Prizes
$500 first place; $350 second place and $150 third place as well as plaques. A certificate of participation to all entrantsPublication
Poems will be published on Phoenix Sister Cities Website and made available internationally. Poems will also be published independentlyAwards Event

While the deadline for the writing competition is imminent, we will also be having an art competition in November 2010. When we have our brochure for that competition available, we will provide you with a copy.
