My co-worker emailed this MSN article:
ANGEL was one of my many favorite shows and I’m still pissed that it ended so abruptly. Without closure. Thanks Joss.
Lorne wasn’t exactly a favorite for me, but I loved all the scenes he was in. I loved it when he made Angel sing karaoke. Hi-larious. His uncomfortableness was palpable.
But I didn’t realize the actor was so young!!! Maybe it was the make-up, but for some reason I thought he was older.
RIP, Andy Hallett. You were a fabtastic addition to the ANGEL crew.

Last week, I was in records training with my supervisor and records mgr in Denver. We stayed at the Sheraton Denver West. When I got in the elevator and was heading up to my room, I happened to glance down at my room card:

“Hey, it’s Dexter,” I said aloud with a gleeful chuckle. FYI: Dexter is one of my fav shows.
Good thing I was alone because I’m sure I sounded dorky. I probably would’ve asked other people what they had. Can you imagine an elevator full of business people comparing room key card designs? LOL.
My co-workers didn’t have anything as cool as mine: one had oranges, the other had baby chicks. Lame.
That was the best part of the trip. Well, that and having the company pay for everything.
And having a room all to myself.
And getting lost trying to go back to the hotel with a co-worker after hitting up a Barnes and Noble. Only to discover from the front desk person–when we finally returned–that we were only just down the street.
And knowing that the following Monday was a holiday. Yay for government workers! We get all the major holidays. As well as all the minor ones in between. Heh!

A friend of mine is the Committee Chair for the Aurora Foundation. The homebase is in Tucson and the founder wants to bring it down here, but Sam (my friend) needs help. I went to an informational meeting on Saturday to find out what the organization’s all about and to see where I could volunteer my skills.
Which, turns out, will be in the form of press releases. Cool by me. This organization is going to do a lot for young girls with disabilities so I’m looking forward to working with them.
Spent a little time at Ulta (now I don’t have to go so damn far to get my make-up, Bare Esenctuals) and went to Best Buy and bought a new CD (Three Days Grace, 1st album).
On Sunday, the hubby and I went to see EAGLE EYE. Very action-packed. Shia has grown into quite a handsome guy. Despite his scrapes with the law. This movie brings to mind “How safe are our cell phones?” According to this movie, not safe at all. We’re in a technological age, where everything is run by computers, so anyone could have access to anything about you and your life. That was brought home, in detail, during a scene in this movie. And the fact that the military created the “villain”, so to speak, didn’t surprise me at all. I’m sure this was the #1 movie over the weekend–our theater was quite full–and it deserved to be. It was really great and it’s going to make you more aware. If not somewhat paranoid.
And laundry. What more can I say about that except it seems like I do it every Sunday. Maybe moreso lately because I like to let it get to the point of Leaning Tower of Dirty Laundry before finally caving in. And then I get mad when I have to do 5 baskets worth. And no, I don’t put them away the same day. At least, not all of them. Too tired.
So, one of our favorite shows premiered last night. A show of hands for Dexter fans out there. If you saw my previous post, then you know that Sundays and Mondays are our craziest nights of TV watching. And Suzy was kind enough to point it out, because really, I didn’t want the reality of knowing how many TV shows we watch. Thanks, Suze. Thanks so much. For y’know, breakin’ it down for me. Sigh.
So, how was your weekend?

I had every intention of posting my doings from the previous weekend, but was out sick for two days (due to my own stupidity…more on that later) and lost power a couple of times (frickin’ rainstorms!). Therefore, you’ll get a double whopper of a weekend wrap-up that will probably end up being a two-parter.
Next week.
Sorry. I know you really wanted the scoop.
So, what do you think of these Olympics? I’m lovin’ these stories that keep popping up. Let’s see, there was:
~ Questionable age of some of the female Chinese gymnasts. Even coach Bela Karolyi verbally mentioned it a couple of times. What do you all think?
~ Michael Phelps’ 12,000 calorie diet. Holy kamoly!
~ the whole temper tantrum fit regarding this Swedish wrestler dude. You want some cheese with that whine? I think maybe he’s been hangin’ with Surya Bonaly (any die-hard ice skating fan out there will know what I’m talking about).
But I’m really liking these little factoid articles, too, like:
~ Why do divers always shower? Seriously. I really wanted to know that.
~ and what was that black stuff on volleyball player Kerri Walsh ‘s shoulder? I kept thinking it was a really cool and vivid tattoo. But the close-up shots made it seem like it was some kind of tape.
I’m glad that Fourth-Place Medal Sports blog on Yahoo is answering the mysterious questions.
