1) Take better care of myself. I’m going to get a membership at the Just Breathe Wellness Center and take Yoga Yin classes every week. Once I get a little more flexible, maybe I’ll venture into Pilates and Spinning. This also includes eating better. A Fresh and Easy is being built near us and I want to check it out when it’s done. Of course, that means I’m going to have cook…
2) Go Green - The hubby doesn’t know this, but we’re going to start using Shaklee products. It’s a start. We’ll work up to solids (read: renovating) much later. Much much later. I also want to be eco-friendly with that project my Dad’s helping me with, but it might be expensive. I’ll have to see.
3) Attend a writer’s conference
4) Attend a writer’s retreat
5) Book at least two school visits - This is contingent on how quickly I can “open” that project I mentioned earlier.
6) Submit my books to Oprah - Notice I said “submit to” not “get on.” I think she needs a book club for teens, don’t you? After all, she has that girls school now…
7) The usual writing obligations - Revising Book One and Book Two of the DA series, and starting Book Three.
So, let’s here it, ya’ll. What are your New Year’s Resolutions? This inquiring mind wants to know.

The first draft of Book Two in the DA series is done.
One week and 4 days past the initial deadline, but it’s done.
I should feel more excited about that, but…It needs to be polished. There are many, many holes to fill. And I didn’t finish the Epilogue. Which is something new for me. I’m a little disappointed in myself about that. I’m off today and I told my BF that I was going to finish the book today. I didn’t have that much to do. She told me to do a little meditation technique before I started writing.
So I took a shower, tried the little breathing-and-visualization technique and wrote, but…
My brain. Is. Fried.
Writing the last few pages and trying to eek out the Epilogue was like pulling Pooh’s head out of a honey pot.
So, I’m finished. At this point in time, I am finished.
The first draft of Book Two in the DA series is done.
For now.
I’m going to set it aside and work on revising Book One.
November 2, 2007 | Book Two, DA Series, The 4-1-1 on Me, Writing Movements
okay, so that light at the end of the tunnel? Turned out to be a nite lite. Followed by a punch in the stomach. I had a little personal issue that set me back a whole day of writing. Therefore…
I did not make my Nov 1st deadline.
But I’m going to start fresh in the morning and finish it while my husband is out doing the male bonding thing.
You’ll know when I’m done because I’ll be the one doing the Snoopy Dance.
October 29, 2007 | Book Two, Life in General, The 4-1-1 on Me, Writing Movements
I’m seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. Book Two is almost done. I’m bearing down on the deadline (or is it bearing down on me?). I thought I would stop at Chapter 12, but I’m ending Chapter 14 and heading into Chapter 15.
The hubby thinks it’s long. 15 Chapters?! Whew!
snort
I have to remind him that it’s the first draft.
And the MS is liberally riddled with (INSERT INFO HERE’s)
I’m very excited about being “almost done”. I just wish I wouldn’t procrastinate so much. It’d be nice to finish ahead of deadline, y’know?

I’m on the home stretch now until Nov 1st. First draft. Book Two.
Here’s to hoping I won’t lose my momentum.
