At the moment, nada. Zilch. Zero. Nein. I’m hair follicles deep in homework and haven’t seen the light of a good book since last week. Finished Susan Brockmann‘s TALL, DARK AND FEARLESS anthology. Needless to say, I’m hoping for some “me” time with a good book this weekend. My brain is about to explode and my stack of TBR books have been calling my name.

Too many adult romance series books to name, but I can tell you that books by SARK always make it onto my self. She’s self-help, but not in that medical, preachy way. It’s more like the fun, colorful, interactive, scribble-outside-the-lines type of way. I’ve talked about this woman plenty on my blog here, but I have to say that every time I leave her presence, I’m invigorated and uplifted.

This week’s question: Do you have a favorite YA read or do you stick to the adult reads?

Even though I write YA, shamefully, adult romance books are my addiction. If there was counseling for this type of addiction, I would gladly be the first to say, “Hello, my name is Celise and I’m an adult romance addict.” LOL. Back in high school, I tried reading YA. I really did. But it didn’t keep my interest. I probably thought they were too boring. I was at the library one day and spotted the adult romance rack. One of the typical bodice-ripper covers caught my eye and as they say….the rest is history. My favorite romance line back then was Loveswept and Harlequin Superromance. Then I graduated to Harlequin Blaze and Silhouette Desire. Now, it’s just Harlequin Blaze. I’m at BN every month because they come out with 6 new books every month. You’ll also find some of my fav romance authors in the blogroll to your right. Some others are Carly Phillips, Annette Blair, Lori Foster, Carolyn Brown, Lucy Monroe, and Jaci Burton. Eventually, I think I’d like to try my hand at writing an adult romance. Well, at least a short story. Or flash fiction. Just to get my feet wet, you understand. Starting next year, I’ve decided to start my own romance book review blog (under a secret pseudonym, of course). Should be fun.

Blog Hop question of the week: What is your favorite brick and mortar bookstore?

Hands down, Barnes and Noble. Even though it’s hard as hell to get a self-published book on the shelf, it’s my bookstore of choice. I own a Preferred Member card and use it every time I’m there. I love that when I get 15% or 20% off coupons, I can use my card in conjunction and get even more savings. It’s definitely worth the annual fee if you’re at the bookstore as often as I am. Which, is like, every month. LOL.
